Greenbelt residents: the Teach-in can prepare you for informed input to your City Council as it debates the Civil Liberties Resolution presented by the Coalition on September 8 (vote is expected by early October).

Other Prince George’s County residents: please join us as we prepare ourselves for an upcoming campaign for a County Council Civil Liberties resolution.

• Johnny Barnes, director of American Civil Liberties Union, National Capital Area, on the nation-wide campaign against the unconstitutional portions of the USA PATRIOT Act
• Patrice Webb, of ACLU national office, on experience of city councils in instructing employees and local police against misuse of their powers.
• Meredith Curtis of ACLU-MD, on the present and projected other Maryland civil liberties resolutions.
• Seyed Rizwan Mowlana of the Council on American-Islamic Relations –Maryland, on the impact of the Act upon the Muslim community.
